Live on the Terrace - Our Pride Festival Takeover [No tickets needed]

Join us for pride takeover on the terrace of the wonderful Cumberland Arms. We will have crafts, DJs and a performance by Ladies of Midnight Blue. See below for full details. We can’t wait to see you there.

5 PM - 7 PM - Community craft workshop with Lily Daniels

Lily Daniels is a participatory artist living and working in Sunderland; her practice focuses on natural materials and historic crafts. Public and private memories are at the core of what she's interested in- both telling and recording them.

At Lily's workshop, you will work together to make banners using traditional painting techniques in the style of Durham Big Meet banners, applique and (queer staple) hot glue. Take home handmade badges to wear at pride or beyond.

6 PM - 7 PM - DJ set from ivorything

Ivan, aka ivorything, was born in Mexico and moved to the North East in 2015 after living in the USA, Argentina, and Canada. 

A lover of all kinds of music from classical to makina, although, mostly prefers listening to Brazilian Bossa Nova and Italian Ballads at home. 

You can catch them on the radio every Sunday evening on Spark Sunderland, playing a little bit of #ivorything

7 PM - 8 PM - Performance by Ladies of Midnight Blue

Ladies of Midnight Blue are an Afro-Latin percussion & brass duet comprised of Hannabiell Sanders and Yilis del Carmen Suriel. They create a powerful and upbeat fusion of rhythms, weaving combinations of melodic percussion, brass, vocal chants, and mbira.

The Ladies of Midnight Blue have performed all over the world and in the last 10 years they have been workshop facilitators and guest artists for various projects and residencies. Their art and music workshops focus on community building and raising awareness concerning issues of inequality on all levels. Ladies of Midnight Blue have performed at  TEDx Newcastle, which can be seen here:

Roshni is a Newcastle based DJ, originally from southern California. Inspired by growing up near Los Angeles, she enjoys playing a range from latin house, baile funk, R&B, hip hop, south asian samples and eclectic beats
